Hawaii, Kauai specifically is one of my favorite places to be. When my husband and I have gone, we make sure to head out and stay at the very Northwest side of the island, just before the road ends, and this is the view we get. If you’re like me, seeing the typical commercial centers take over every beautiful place on this earth and steal any of its originality, then you’ll love this area. It’s isolated, gorgeous, and still has a whole lot of the old world charm. Every time we’re there we have this conversation about wishing we were there in the 60′s and imagining how much more beautiful it would’ve been, if that’s even possible.
One of my favorite things to do when we get there, is to buy several pineapples, several types of rum, and all the fixings to make Mai Tais, I ended up perfecting my Mai Tai recipe and just making vats of it to take with us onto the beach. So I brought the recipe home, but somehow it never tastes the same no matter how many swizzle sticks and colorful umbrellas I put in it. Must be something in the air.
